Is it possible to tow a REAL 4x4 caravan (12ft.) out to Ruby Gap and also Chamber's Pillar with a 2.7 ltr. diesel Jeep Cherokee Laredo?

A "REAL 4x4 caravan" would be one which has Four Wheel Drive, would it not??

We have a Custom Built for Off-Road use, Evernew van. It has High Ground Clearance, Independant Suspension, a Heavy duty Off Road Chassis with Steel Checkerplate floor and lower walls. A van built to go anywhere a 4x4 can go.

There is a short climb up a rather steep hill on the way out to W76179 but you should be ok.

G,Day Ed , sitting in Loyalty beach camping ground next to a tandem camper soft floor - wondered if it was your first creation?

Ruby Gap would be possible but Glen Annie gorge has many rocks needing high clearance - you can walk it though as it is worth the effort .
Chamber's Pillar has a sandy crk to cross so prepare all your tyre pressures first .
Cheers John Suz

G'day John & Suz, Nah not mine, but it'd a safe bet that it was made by the same fella (he did do a few tandem soft-floors)...
How's it holding up? are the owners happy with it?

Plenty o' room (or we'll make room;-) in the back yard here if ya want to call by on your way home...

Catch ya later...

Ruby Gorge , should be ok, but further up at Glen Annie I would worry. Been up that way a few cartons, oops I mean times.can get abit of a worry with some sand and manouvering on tight bits with clearance problems. Nice spot though Cheers

Gday,
No dramas getting into Chambers, but you might be getting a bit enthusiastic with Ruby.
Why dont you leave your van in Alice and camp?
Getting a van into Ruby would be a pain in the arse if nothing else!
My advice would be take it to chambers but not to Ruby.

Cheers
