Can anyone tell me if OziExplorer 3D will allow me to download Shonky Maps to my computer then put them on a card for my Garmin760 as it only has city navigator on it thanks.
Cheers Dave...

Dave,
You don't need OziExplorer to download shonkymaps.
You can do this with Internet Explorer, or whatever other Internet access program you use.
I am not a Garmin user, but if you have a card reader attached to your computer, you can save them to an SD card or whatever the Garmin GPS unit uses in it.
Bill.

When you install shonkymaps, it will add itself to Mapsource. From there, you can select the maps you want to upload to your GPS.
Cheers

OziExplorer is a stand alone map reading software package and is only used to read maps in ozi format.
Mapsource is Garmins map reading software and will only read maps in Garmin format unless converted.
Shonky maps is in Garmin format and needs Mapsource to read it, shonky maps is just a map not a program.
Hence why it only works on Garmin products.
All you have to do is download Shonky maps and open the exe. file and it will load then when you open Mapsource it will appear as a add on in a drop down manual in the top left corner.
You need a licensed version of Mapsource to unlock the Shonky maps if used to navigate.

OziExplorer will read almost any picture format, not just OZF. I scan some maps to JPEG, BMP or PNP then calibrate and use them.

Dave you have to use a licensed version of Mapsource, you can download a pirate copy of it to view your shonky maps but as soon as you connect a GPS up to it it will lock the map and make it unusable.
I believe you also have to use a Garmin GPS with Mapsource as it will only work with other brand GPS's.
