Hello all,

I am considering buying a Kedron Caravan located in Northern NSW and would need to have it shipped to WA. Does anyone have any experience with this and/or could recommend a shipping company? Help appreciated!

Will.

I did some research when I wanted to buy a 17'6" caravan from Melbourne last year, a large transport group (can't remember who) who charge $1000 for a car to Perth qouted over $4000 for the caravan, go figure. That was when diesel was only $1 / litre.

Cheaper to fly there, hire a L/cruiser and tow it back, if the hire company permits it. Or arrange for a truckie to tow it behind his truck?

My son had one freighted from Melb. to Perth. It's not worth it. You can buy good c'vans here in Perth unless you are going to make a holiday out of the trip.($2500.00 freight charges for a camper van)

rWe just did a retuen trip over the Nullarbor and the amount of trucks carrying new vans, in both directions, was amazing.

Coromals are made in Perth. My suggestion would be to ring Coromal in Perth and find out who takes their vans over east.

Then ring that transport company and ask them if they take vans back to Perth and see if you can jump on.

Try to get some idea from Coromal what they pay too.

Do the same with Jayco, there were heaps of them, some Paramount. Just talk to all the manufacturers.

cheers

I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy

A couple of years ago I tried to arrange transport of a trailable boat from Sydney. All the prices I got were horrendous. Eventually I decided a quick trip to Sydney and tow it back was by far the cheapest option
