After you leave the road into/out of the Dig Tree turn left heading north and you go over this rise and, as John T rightly said, it's as if you entered the Rift Valley in Africa.

The Loop Road was bloody good wasn't it?

After heading back out from the Dig Tree to the T junction, you turn left and about 15 kilometres further on is the "Loop Road" junction.

Interestingly, Things will change shortly, in the name of progress.
