Does anyone know of a non GMH mechanic in the Parramatta : Carlingford :
Castle Hill Area who can be relied upon to work on a 2000 SE petrol Jackaroo? Must be able to access and/or interpret the codes on engine management system.
I am sick of GMH - Had the car serviced 4 weeks ago 180,000 and sensor has worked loose twice since then resulting in red light, stalling and complete shut-down on three occasions. This is the 4th time it has happened following a service by GMH and we have had enough.
It is a major drama to get the car into GMH each time and get them to plug it in, identify the code, reset the sensor and fix problem - only takes them 15 minutes but I suspect someone does not do something during the service which results in this drama.

Buy a ScanGaugeII and you will be able to do it yourself. (Identify which sensor and reset the Check Engine light)
The people who know your vehicle inside out are......Holden Dealers.
If you have an issue with a particular Holden Dealership, you can take up the issue with Holden Customer Assistance.
The OBDII test analysis is a standard procedure common to many vehicles. Perhaps you could take it to Ultratune???

Thanks Bill
I am not technically minded at all and I have been arguing and complaining to GMH dealer for years - sometimes successfully and sometimes not.
I am just sick of it (and too old for the inconvenience) Do you think Untraltune would be O'K to service it?
Cheers

WDR, I had a Jack for four years and the only problems I ever had with it were installed by Authorised GMH service..

My Jack has been looked after for the past two and a half years at RW Brown Automotive - 9635 8522 (right next door to Holden on Church St in Parramatta ironically).
They have done a good job looking after the car I have to say, very knowledgable. The first time I went there was for a similar reason you have (warning light intermittently coming on and after several fruitless trips to Holden I had had enough). Turned out to be a wire in the main loom broken inside the insulation in 3
places. Bugger of a thing to find and required the loom to be unbound and the offending wire replaced. 1 1/2 hours labour all they charged which I thought was very fair.
Speak to Mark (owner) and tell him Gavin sent you.
No affiliation, just a satisfied customer

Thank you so much Gavin - That is the best possible response - I will give them a go - They could not possibly be as bad as that dealer.
Cheers
