At 25kWp I thought I'd be able to get away with a slight loss of efficiency and leave it flat (otherwise I'd have to undo the occy straps holding it to the roofrack everytime :))

Adrian,

Have you MM'd Doug and Bundy to see if they would provide the escorts needed to haul that sucker around?? ;)

Cheers Kev

No but I am waiting for the inevitable post from someone to say that it would contravene ADR blah blah and had I considered the roofloading because it may void the vehicle warranty and should it be wired with 16ga or 24ga :)

All the best

I think DIO will along soon to do that for you LOL

It may fit on the Trak Shak roof rack though ;)

Dunno about that other stuff, but if you had some canvas sheeting for sides it'd make one hell of a marquee.

I'm guessing you need all that power to keep the beer cold. Why else would you use valuable power???

In regards to a roof rack, surely with that much power you could run your own mig welder!!!!!!!!
I know just the place to get the steel. I think in Sydney they call it the "coathanger"............

Hello there Adrian, you really shouldn't concern yourself about the idiots that will question you regarding the wiring spec or those that feel the roof rack may be a bit under engineered for your brilliant answer to the ongoing solar power problem.

However I feel obliged to ask you have you considered your Vehicles GVM? Cruiser or Patrol ? Neither would be legal in my iopinion & they are the supposed heavy weight of the 4 bys.
Perhaps if you to upgrade to Ford Ranger/ Mazda BT50 you would be well within the vehicles legal load capacity . Just my opnion.

Yes, they might need your POIs for bridge heights. :-)

Thanks Doug! It would make for a grand entrance for the next National Gathering!

Andrew - hadn't thought of bridges. May need to consider the bi-fold version :)
