I have Easy Thumbnails but don't use it much any more.
Although it is suggested you resize your pictures before uploading, you don't really have to. The upload process will resize it for you.
Just takes a bit longer that's all.

Can Irfanview resize a number of pics at the same time? I think I used it a few years ago, but was attracted to Thumbs because it could resize a large number of pics in one go, which is want I needed when I first came across it.

Irfanview can resize, rename, change colour depth, change file type, adjust colours, add imprint names and many other things. I have been using it for years since AceeDcee days as it was much better for the many images I process. You can keep the originals intact and make copies to another location.
It has to be the handiest of all the
tools I use. And it's fast.
It also allows easy reading of the Exif and IPTC info which gives you camera settings used and programs last used to edit the images with.
Many uses for image batching and viewing.
