4 month trip

Hi, I have 4 months off from the end of January next year.
This will be our first big trip and am using it as a shakedown before retiring in November and hitting the road full time.
At some point I (read SHMBO) wants to have a few days in
Brisbane.
We will be leaving from
Adelaide, would love ideas from anyone who has done a similar trip. We would like to do a bit of
free camping, again suggestions welcome, I do have Camps Aust 4
I will be towing a full size van (2000Kg ATM) behind my Terracan so not set up for off road. Don't mind leaving the van for a few days and trying out some 4WD tracks.

Worth spending time in the
Grampians. Try
Halls Gap for a caravan
park in town or other nice spots like Buandik / Billywing or
Plantation Campground. None have power, all have
toilets.
Park camping fees apply. The 4wd tracks usually open late October.
Not far from there to
Port Fairy / Warrnambool and Great Ocean Road.
