We are heading off on the Darling River Run next week. I have read the information on the treks section. Some time ago I found a number of threads that had some information from people who recently completed the trek but I can seem to find them at the moment.

Can anybody steer me in the right direction.

Thanks in a advance.

Hi Cram.

We did the Darling River trip in July & used a pamphlet fromTourism NSW.It is a great publication with detailed map.
On our trip home we camped next to the Executive Manager of Outback Regional Tourism. She originally designed this pamphlet.

Give her a ring(Lori Modde, 0282086122) & she should be able to send you the pamphlet.

Enjoy your trip. There is a lot to see in the area.

Cheers.

Cram - just back this week from the Paroo run from Wilcannia to Eulo - Found camping at Wilga station in the Paroo - Darling very good spot - about 50 km up river from Wilcannia - and fuel is a lot cheaper in Wilcannia off the main drag - down the river about one block. We were told there was 9 cents a litre difference.

Have a good trip

We did the run in April this year from the Calgoa up at the Qld boarder all the way down to Wentworth. Great trip.

Stayed at Trilby Station near Louth which was great (just search the web for there details). They have river side camps and access to the shower block etc. Then down to Kinchiga (went past Wilga as mentioned above and it is a good spot) then Mungo NP and Wentworth. Had a few days in these spots.

We then hired a house boat and did two nights on the Darling going up about 26km which was a good relax after the trip down.

Yep Fuel in Wilcannia is best from the BP (?) which is down the Menidnee road on the edge of town (past the cop shop) and it was about 9c cheaper.

Great spot to camp at Meninidee is around near main weir on the edge of Lake Pammaroo. Free and right on the waters edge with sunsets across the lake (and some fishing).

Have fun.

Cram,
Hve not long done the Darling River Run ourselves.

Try doing an archive search.

Use May 1st this year as your start date and enter only the word "Darling", as the search subject. This will eliminate threads on every other river and "run".

Heaps of info available. One other thing I did was get out the old road map, have alook at all the various towns and localities then Googled them one by one.
