Got back on the weekend. Now the cleaning and putting away starts.
Left 1st August for the NT, and got back the 6th September.
Good trip and no major problems, a few minor ones, so some posts will be appearing over the next few weeks for the wise ones to consider :o)
After
Brisbane, - via Mt Isa, Three Ways,
Mataranka,
Katherine, right at
Pine Creek into
Kakadu, anticlockwise to
Darwin,
Litchfield,
Daly Waters,
Borroloola, Gulf track to
Lawn Hill via Kingfisher,
Cloncurry then home via 1770. And a few side tracks and interesting
places in between.
Will put the trip report on my blog next week once I get it typed up.
9440 km in total, have seen fuel prices rise and fall!
Thanks to all for the tips and info researching these areas for the last year.
PS - only saw one other EO sticker, and a wheel cover in
Darwin on a Vic dark coloured patrol. Pulled up next to them and waved, jumped in front of them with the EO sticker on the back of the Paj, they didn't notice, too busy trying to navigate to Fanny Bay.
Saw Steve's new Oka at
Twin Falls car
park with Jarrod driving. Very impressive. Jarrod reported that Steve was flat and having a drink at the office.

Welcome home John.
I hope the readings on the EGT didn't go to high LOL.
Cheers.

Thanks Vince,
Havn't turned the fuel up for the extra boost and the 2.75" exhaust, so no problems. Was running a bit high (steady 500 in the manifold) running north sitting on a 100 km/hr into a 30km/hr head wind. Fuel economy dropped to about 15l/100k too, camper trailer didn't help.
Just touched 700 going up the
Toowoomba range.
So hear you had some cool temps and a little rain while we were away? We had to pull the sheet up a couple of nights up in the NT to. :o)

Hallo John! was wondering where you were, you'd been very quiet. Yes I know you would have told me before about your trip... But my memory seriously, is no good after the car acident!
Looking forward to your trip report. I've asked a few other paj drivers, out of curiosity, how many k's has red rattler got on her now? your's is petrol or diesel?

Jo,
Good to hear from you.
Paj now got 320,000k. Diesel. 96 model.
But had to do the head 6 months ago.
Wasn't me (either son or SWMBO) but some one drove it and wasn't watching the temp guage, and cracked the head.
Mechanic reckons the bores were good for at least another 200,000k.
In the last year, have done the alternator and starter motor, originals untouched, and seemed OK, but did them just in case.
Just done the front top A arm
suspension bushes too.
Getting old enough maintenance is always rolling around with something to do.

Hey John,
mine has 316,0000 on her now. Mechanically all good to my knowledge, wanna be with the amount of money I have spent keeping it maintained to avoid disasters!, 2nd gear synchros haven't always been the greatest, but it is third gear synchros I think are on their way out now. And she could do with some new bushes, bumpstops and probably this rod and that rod for her underbelly.
