Great photos Richard. Your daughter looks like she would rather be elsewhere than in the photo. Some of those flowers I've never seen before. Very nice

This was at the end of 6 weeks out, with many overnighters, so both of the kids were totally wasted. Some nights they were in bed almost as soon as the sun went down and not up till after 6 the next morning. 10 - 12 hours sleep some nights, so I think they were at the point here where they were ready to go home.

We have only been home for a week now and they are already asking when we can go camping again.

Was looking at the Holland Track trip, but I dont think Tracy is too keen to pull them out of school for any more days, even if only for the Friday, but I am working on it, so we may yet do that trip hopefully.

Cheers

That would cause the long faces. It would be good if you could join us, I think the track could be interesting with all the rain recently and the possibility of a huge show of wild flowers.

Yes I know and have wanted to do thrat track for a while now. Almost got Tracy convinced to pull the kids out of school for the Friday and then to see if I can get the time off work. She wants me to take the Tuesday as well so we can take our time getting back.

Is the track suitable to take a camper trailer out on it, as that will also be a limiting factor is it isnt?

Cheers

To be honest Richard I don't know. In April we passed a Vitara that was camped up with a CT. One of the people who will be coming will be towing as well. See no reason why not, as long as we're careful and dodge the bad patches; then we should be alright.

A lot will depend just how much rain has fallen in that area. I read that Global Gypsies are doing a tag-a-along starting Tuesday along the track and I know from their website and news letter that Jeremy usually has a trailer in tow. So all should be safe.

Sound pretty good to me. Now just have to continue to convince Tracy that she really needs to get away camping again, which shouldnt be too hard I dont think.

In any case I will put in my application for leave tomorrow for the required days as I guess that will be the real decider, considering that I just took 6 weeks off. Ahhh such is life, they do want us to use our days in lieu and not accrue them so thats what I plan to do.

Cheers

Yes, but not quite. RDO's would be very nice but alas not in my current position. The DIL's are from all the damn travel I have done back to the East due to shortage of staff in Sydney & Melbourne.

The 3 I currently have are from a trip to Canberra 2 weeks before we left on our trip. Tracy was not impressed about that one. Off to Melbourne again 1st weekend of November and then again 3 weeks later. The DIL's make it worthwhile though, not to mention the frequent flyer points :)

Nice pics.

I went up to Paynes Find and then around the back of Lake Moore to Cleary last weekend and they are in abundance out there too.

Thinking about driving up to work next week. as some of the lakes we fly over which border on the farmland look like they still have a bit of water in them. Just goto get the map and try and figure out a back way. Might as well do it now while the lakes have water and the wildflowers are out and the flys havnt returned

The pics all look great. We made our own Christmas cards a few years back from some of the macro shotis I did of Western Australian wild flowers. They were labout intensive though.

The flowers are really lovely

Hi Davoe

We will be heading across the border via the GCR in a few days time. Any suggestions that we could go and still see the flowers? Some years ago the Rooster took his cousin from UK around the Leinster Sandstone Wiluna area when the flowers were spectacular. We can't recall what year or month - but a station owner reported his station was one huge lake - must have been a rare very wet year.

At Yulara - walked around the Rock today but didn't tackle the climb past the rough rocks

Motherhen,
You should start to see them from about Cosmo Newberry on, they get better from Laverton.
They only come out this time of year, August/September, the more rain over Winter the better the display.

Cheers,
Dennis
