Kim and Damn Dog
This is a recently released book describing the Myall
Creek Station massacre.
A number of things stand out in this publication.
Much of the book is based on recorded legal journals rather than suspicion. Peter Stewart not only talks about the deed, but also the prevailing attitudes of the time.
It leaves one to ponder our history from then to now.
I’d recommend this book to all of those who have an interest in Australian history and the Outback.
Regards
Kim

G'day Kim
Myall
Creek is only just up the road from me here in
Tamworth - driven past lots of times but last time past I stopped and stood in the area where the
memorial stands. Have yet to attend when the "service" is being held. It's 1 of many things I intend to do before I jump off me perch. Maybe I imagine too much but I reckon I can feel the "locals" killed in the area around the
creek. Would have been a very lonely and very isolated place back then. Even today, inless you know where it all happened, it would be very easy to miss completely.
Have just Googles "Demons at Dusk" - will have to get that one - thanks for the heads up
Cheers

I can't remember the details, but I bet you are talking about the same book I saw in the book
shop the other day.. Something about a guy getting killed on a station and they still don't know who did it..

Gidday Kim, read the book myself about 8 months ago. I was disturbed by the slaughter of the aboriginals even after such a long period of time. There is a publisher in
Perth called Hesprian Press who produce many books on the history of Australia from the laymans view. You can see their website for a complete list if this interests you.
