Hi all, I have a 98 mod 100 ser diesle L/C and was on holidays when we went off the beaten track for a little bit well it stared raining and we had some trouble getting back out as I had the 4B full and the tinnie was on the roof, on my 3rd attempt to get up a very slippery hill I hit a bump entering the crest of a climb and everything bounced a bit and thats when I noticed the Airbag warning light on ,I have been to an auto elec and he said because its an early mod that the plug which is usually under the dash is under the bonnet and has an uncommen plug and he could not clear the fault and I would have to go to Toyota so if anyone has any input to how I can fix this before going to the RIPSTERS at Toyo I would really like to hear from you, thanx for taking the time to read this guys .

Regards J.B.

It's my understanding that the airbags have to be replaced after 10 years.
If that's right then the light is telling you that 10 years is up.

I would start by pulling the fuse for the srs and see if it resets by itself..

Had same problem with my 100 series. This forum advised it was possibly water getting into wiring from roof rack mounting threads in roof.
As I had recently fitted roof racks, I then removed them ,refitted with sealant, left car in sun for a few days and guess what? Fixed itself and never had problem again.
