Cape York Feedback

Hi,I am a newcomer to forums so I hope that I am doing the right thing here,
What i am seeking is photos of our 1973 short wheelbase landcruiser (Coloured red with white roof)
We did a Cape York trip in June 1989 and crossed the Wenlock by raft constructed out of 44 gal. drums and saplings. A 4wd club was there at the time and took photos of the crossing.
These photos subsequently appeared as a full centrefold in a 4wd magazine.
I have seen the photos in this magazine and had it at one time but with the passage of time it was lost.

I was hoping that someone may have this mag or know its orign, and could contact me,
Regards Wally

I'm pretty sure I saw photos very similar to your description posted on the 4wdmonthly forums a couple of months ago. I'm not quite sure how to search for them though - I suspect they were in the trips and touring section of their forum but not certain.

Check this member profile out

It is Rocky One

He has a pic in his members gallery of his vehicle on the raft going over the wenlock.

Cheers Kev

He was presented with a difficult decision: push on into the stretching deserts, or return home to his wife.

All the best

Norm did it in late 70's or early 80's in the wet, the raft was foam inside a wire mesh cage there was 2 off them, he use to work out of he's house around the Ryde area of NSW area in those days. saw him a few times out & about, we all use to play hard back then.
