Have been pricing lift kits today, and am wondering if you go for the uprated torsion bars or just wind your stock ones up a bit?? Chasing around 40mm of lift all round.
And with bull bars, I am looking for a second hand one so if anybody knows of a 4WD wrecker or similar in
Sydney that would be great :)
Cheers Stefan

eBay's a weird thing.
When your after something there's none, but if your really don't want something there's heaps.
You'll find one.

Hi Stefan, dont forget to keep your eye out on ebay for the bullbar. When my neighbour rang up about lifting his pajero they recomended replacing torsion bars. Now this could be all sales pitch to get some extra $$$ but I suppose its like my prado, bullbar etc so you have more weight on the front so maybe after market ones hold up better in the long run with extra weight ?? Regards Steve M

Stefan,
I had a Pajero for many years and only got rid of it last year. I found it a great vehicle for on & off road. Much underated I think.
In regards to the torsion bars. You will get the extra lift by winding up what you have but that is only part of the story. The originals tend to be a bit soft and if you want to inprove the ride off road you need to get stiffer ones that absorb more energy before they hit the end stops. Do not go too far in lift as you will find the shocks and CVs will not like it. 40mm should be ok.
There are a number of wreckers around that usually have Pajeros. Just look up wreckers in the yellow pages and start ringing around. You will find prices vary a lot so it is worth the time.
cheers
alastair

A further comment. I put polyairs in the back and they were very good. Allowed one to maintain good ride when lightly laden and keep a good height when heavy. Avoid heavy duty coils in the rear unless you are going to have load on all the time. It really spoils the great ride and handling.
