Does anyone know any accomodation in Killarney or the actual location of this place. We are flying from
sydney to
darwin and will head off to killarney - how to get there by air or bus or car???
would love and appreciate more info pls.

Hema, The Top End map, K5. It is just west of the Buntine Hwy which runs south from the Victoria Hwy. On Raster topo map it has an
airstrip. Almost 600 km by road from
Darwin.

Killarney Station is on the Buntine Highway as Jon said. As far as I know it doesn't have accommodation. Top Springs roadhouse is about 30 kms south and they have accommodation there. The road is bitumen but narrow.

May i ask why you intend on going to Killarney if you know absolutley nothing about it. Not meaning to sound harsh or rude but, its quiet easy for things to go wrong when your off the beaten track and things can turn serious very quickly. Let us in on a few more details cause i think you require a bit more information.
People here are only to happy to share with you. A little more planning and better knowledge could help you heaps if something goes pear shaped.

Thanks for your reply.
There is a movie shooting there and we are doing some research about it. We have a few more details now like ie : how far it is and the details of who lives there.
Permit will be required to be able to drive thru and
camping is the only accomodation in Killarney station although there are private houses there too.
Top springs is the closest for accomodatin as far as my research goes so we decided to book our accomodation in
Mataranka 300km away. Drivng back and
forth will just have to stop for our lunches in Top Spings as its apparently a pub/hotel too - Will be thirsty am sure.
