Hi,
just wondering if anyone in FNQ had some co-ordinates of some good
camping spots on rivers that they would like to share. i have just spent the day driving around using natmap and gps, but there are so many homesteads and private properties that i didn't like to proceed through their gates.
and also on the off chance that someone out there would like to share the coordinates of the '
natural bridge' near watsonville in fnq.
anything would be very much appreciated.
regards,
John

John. Have lots of good spots but sorry never though of GPSing them. Google Earth may be able to help in that department though. Question is how many people do you tell about these spots? That is what I will have to consider, as we can still go there and there will only be us. ;-). Cheers Tony

Hi Neil,
Is that track (and the bridge) accessible by anyone or is it on private land, requiring land owners permission.
I would like to check out that location next time i'm in the area and need to work out if i need to contact someone beforehand or just rock up and talk to the property nearby.
Thanks
Andrew

G'day Andrew ,,
that area is accessible by anyone ,, there is a small spot you can
camp just down stream from the bridge ,, you'll see a track going into it ,, good sandy (but smallish) spot on the banks of the river (no crocs either) ,, you can walk either way and see some very good sights ,, if you look around a bit further you will pick up a fer dams ,, most of them you will need to let the station owners know you are there so they know someone is about !!
All the best ,, Neil ..
