Unless you are very handy with a welder (preferably mig) i would suggest you get them professionally fitted. It would be worth the extra $ rather than having something fail out bush.
Beware of the quality of some of these cheap, ebay, made in China parts. It's a cliche', but "if you buy something cheap you end up paying for it twice".

Interesting comment Barnsey, why peferably a mig?
A stick welder will do as good a job, maybe better anyday, thats if you can weld!
If they fail in the bush, just take them off, your using it without them now, so in an emergency, you could do the same.
About to undertake similar search sleepy, only I need 4 sets, so will be chasing the trade for the best quality/price.
Cheers Pesty

Interesting comment indeed..............
No.2 son has in the last coupla yrs been employed welding gas/oil pipes for Santos..
When I asked him what gear they use, he said "stick"..
when I asked "why stick?", he replied "better penetration, stronger weld" (or words to that effect)...
More to it than that, of course, but that's the "nuts & guts" of it...
must be a message there, I reckon;-))

mig vs stick, engle vs waeco, nissan vs toyota, seems theres a trend starting.
On heavy duty applications ie more than 6mm thick and requiring high strength welds stick with the correct rods is the way to go.
Migs on the other hand are very good at thin section stuff like car panels and is quicker on stuff that doesnt need a lot of strength.
Horses for courses.

Use a stick welder if you want. I can accept being wrong at times.

I wonder how many of the stick welders here have actually used a 250amp+ mig? The mig will give a better/cleaner/more even every time.

Make sure the stud pattern is the same too.........if you can weld bolt the backing plate to the drum and fit the bearings tight that puts the plate in the right spot on the axle. Make sure the welds are good otherwise the drum can spin and make a mess.
If you're not sure get it done by a caravan repairer.
cheers

I went through this in March.
Purchased the 6 stud hubs fitted with brakes for $65 each including wheel nuts and bearings, backplates were $5 each. Also bought a new axle to match the 4x4 track width, and they welded the backplates on for $10. New U bolts were around $15 for the four.
A bit of elec cable from S/Cheap, and a couple of hours work.
All from a trailer manufacturer and spares at Beenleigh Qld.
I did receive prices from other suppliers up to 60% dearer so it's worth shopping around.
Cheers

Hi
only buy Alko parts , i
f your camper is off road , you will need
"off Road " elec brakes , not the standard elec brakes
they cost more , but will not fall apart !
you will need
backing plates x 2 , on or off road elec brake assembly x 2 ,
10" hubs ,
they should come with new bearing ,
3 mm wire
keep in mind that elec brakes are only needed for a camper that
is over 2 ton
Mech brakes , disc or drum will do the job also
Cheers
