We bought a 2000 watt Kipor in March 2000, got a great deal.

Bloody thing gave us grief from day one and had to be returned to Sydney (from Melbourne) for repair. At this time Kipor had a number of distributors and one had to send it back to the original wholesaler regardless of point of purchase.

Anyway, it came back, ran OK for a while and then started giving grief again.

Funk it, I said and sent it to Macfarlane Generators in Clayton for some sort of help. They were most helpful, diagnosed a total lack of compression and arranged for the new NATIONAL distributor, Primus to replace it with a new unit.

After a week away with the new one....well, it works a treat, starts first time and uses much less juice.

How well it goes over time is anyone's guess.

But having one distributor for the product, and one of the integrity of Primus Kookaburra, gives me immense confidence in the product.

Disclaimer: I don't sell them, no affiliation with Kipor, etc.

Jim.

We have a 1000W Kipor, our only complaint is that it's noisey. Also now that we have a van it won't run the airconditioner so we went & bought a 2000W Honda.(Forsale 1000W Kipor)

I got the 3000w Honda EU3000, designed for quiet running with EcoThrottle, it can run parallel with another one of the same generators. It is designed to run with sensitive electronics, with very little variance. I did my homework before buying.

I have had 2600 Kipor for over 12 months and has never missed beat. It will run every thing the van which is great. I have now gripe with Honda but the 2000 unit is only 1600, with 2000 peak short term. Which is why I bought the Kipor.

I have the 1000watt Kipor - works perfectly.

I just noticed on a recent exercise that NSW Fire Brigade are buying Kipors - they worry less about dollars than about reliability.

We have to prop the frond of ours up a bit to stop it from stalling.
