Could an aerial expert please advise. I have a 7 db aerial for Next G. It is ground independent. After working
well, it now reduces signal strength on phone rather than amplifying the signal. That is, by plugging in the aerial to the phone, the phone registers less not more bars of signal strength. Can anyone help please. Phil

Sounds like a broken or shorted lead.
Check the aerial lead with a multimeter for short circuit between the inner wire and outer shield.
Cheers

7db ground independent aerial on Next-G.
Are you sure you have the right antenna????
The antenna I use is a high gain CDMA antenna which is the same frequency as used by Next-G.
Works
well. I use a rubber ducky aerial around town and swap to the 800mm aerial when going bush.
Bill.
