Hello everyone, we're looking for the best route from Bowen, QLD, to Perth. Don't want to do gravel, or extreme heat. Nissan Patrol 4.2lt petrol gas towing 22' van. Any ideas?
Cheers, Carmel

Could try:-
Bowen, Mackay, Emerald, Roma, St George, Cunnamulla, Bourke, Cobar,Broken Hill, Port Augusta, Perth.

This is bitumen all the way and fairly flat for towing. You don't mention time of year but who can tell the weather in regards to heat. Crossed Nullabor Christmas 2006 and drove through showers and very cool weather both ways. Can never tell the weather.

Did Whitsundays to Perth last year.

Whitsundays, Rockhampton, Goondawindi, Narrabri, Coonabarabran, Cobar, Broken Hill, Peterborough, Port Agusta, Norseman, Esperance, Albany, Perth.

No gravel/dirt, we were in an XR8 ute which really does not have much ground clearance and runs low profile tyres on 18 inch rims.

Only place to watch for hills etc are Rockhampton to Dululu it's just a long uphill climb but not steep. Isla Gorge near Theodore, steep climb. Near Coonabarabran.

Cheers

You can now get the latest Narrow Bridge file on the gps or 4x4 page , right click on the link and SAVE TARGET AS .
Right down the botton left side, just stick it in where the other one is , delete the old one, this one has a new name.

Get file
