Hi Peter,
I will be going there around end November this year.
I would be interested in your itinary.
Are you going from Capricorn road house and back along the Canning SR ?
How much fuel are you taking ?
Would appreciate your feed back, before and after, including condition of the track.

George,
Yoos a keen. That country will be seriously bloody hot at that time. I should be on air with my VKS737 call sign by then. The guy manning the Derby Base is a mate of mine and can provide contact through VKS737.

You might need it out there at that time!

Thanks for the feed back John and Allyn.

I understand what your are saying.
I am not unfamiliar with the outback at that time of the year.
I have travelled the kimberly and Dessert country right through summer, flash flooding, closed roads and temperatures up to 60 degrees in the sun, for the last 15 years.
One of the very few places I have not been to is the Ruddal River NP, hopefully Peter will provide some info regarding my earlier question

Hi George I will be travelling to Mekka where I will be meeting up with a mate from Perth and another who is travelling from York via the Connie Sue and Gunbarrel we will then travel to newman and onto Rudall River via the Talawana track .After that we intend to travel the Telfer rd and into Carawine gorge then to Nullagine , from there it is onto Port Headland via Marble Bar we will travel the coast road back to Perth I will be taking 130lt in the car (2 tanks) + I have 4 x 20lt jerry cans in the camper trailer we will also have 100lt of water . A mate has just come back from the same trip and reported that the road in the park has just be graded 3 weeks ago but there are some sandy bits on the Talawana leading in , I will be recording the hole track on the GPS and transfering it to Oziexplorer so I can send you the file if you have this system. My mate coming via the Gunbarrell will also be doing trip notes and will forward the info to Exploroz . I will also be posting a track update on this site when I return .Born to drive a 4x4 , not a keyboard

Thanks for the info Pete.
That will be an interesting trip
I would really appreciate a copy of your track file when you get back.
I also have OziExplorer on a laptop.
My email address is below.
I will be going a different way, North of Kumarina via Jiggalong to Rudall then across to the CSR and back down to Wiluna and back to Perth.
I will also be saving a track file on OziExplorer and can send you a copy.
When you are on your way I will try and contact you on VKS-737 through your selcall number.

The tourist office at Newman has a good mud map of the area (Free), with good gps loc's on it.
Was out there in June, really nice.
I have an OziExp track logs and waypoints from Newman thru the Talawana Track, up thru RR NP, north a bit towards Telfer then nw to Nifty and Woodie Woodie. If info needed, contact me on
