Who would like free accommodation for 6 months?

Each year from about April to October I venture outback - most of the time tutoring School of the Air children in a voluntary capacity on their isolated Q or NT properties. But the dilemma I have each year is: who will look after my dogs, house & small farm? I belong to a farmsitting site - but no joy as most farmsitters expect payment, & that I can't afford.

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF: ANY ORGANISATION OR INDIVIDUALS THAT WOULD BE INTERESTED IN HOUSESITTING FREE OF CHARGE (MOST BILLS PAID FOR) FOR 6 MONTHS IN A SPLENDID PART OF OZ - HUNTER VALLEY?

I suppose you have tried the housesitting sites on the web? We used one for a 6 month trip and were very happy.

Ahhh Willem,

I love where I live so there is no way of selling. But while I can, I have the need to get out there to experience a different life. Marilyn

You misunderstood what I have written

I call where I live to the north of Adelaide the deep south although it is not really that. But as we live in the temperate zone and 500metres above sea level our winters can be very cold.

We (SWMBO and I) housesat in Melbourne a couple of years ago for 6 months and could be interested again. We had some animals to look after (4 sheep, 8 chooks, 1 horse, 1 mad dog and 2 cats to look after - all no problems except for the foxes who got one chook). We also have references. One requirement for us is that we MUST be able to get NextG as I need it to work (from home part time).

We also have friends who may be interested so I will mention it to them if you like. They are retired and have a small dog.

Contact me at stevesub at yahoo.com if you want more details from me.

Hi Marilyn,
Wanting to be away for 3 mths this year I tried all the house sitter sites.Thought it was all set up but fell through a month before planned departure. In desperation I placed a post on the Carravan'ers site.
Bingo!!A loverly couple who took exceptionally good care of the house and pets.
These days there are a lot of folk permanently on the road and with fuel prices as they are some are happy to sit in one area and have a good look around.
