Hi Guys
We have just got our new Oztent rv5 (2mts x 45cm x 22kg) and was wondering if anyone had any ideas of storages on the roof racks. Thought someone might have an idea for a drop down roller system like the tradies have for large heavy ladder etc. Its to sit on top of our troopy and the roof rack is 2.2 long but would like to get some kind of roller system to make it easy to get it back up. If anyone has any ideas or photos it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Red Tail Black

Would it fit in one of those Ozpods? You see one of those in the trading post every now and then. Expensive tho.
Cheers

Thanks Mick don't think it will fit and we wanted it to drop down so we could push it back up. Like a boat roller set up.

Rhino have a ladder roller product which by itself, or in association with a ladder rail will provide you with a workable solution.

Hi
Also have the Oztent rv5.
We have a roller & kayak carrier at the back of a Wind Cheetah roof rack on a Prado. The rack etc purchased from Front Runner in
Welshpool.
We place the tent on the roller at the back and roll it into the kayak carrier.
Works great, cost an arm and a leg :-)

Hi Rowdy This sounds like what we were thinking about. Do you have any photos and would I be able to have a box come down on this roller like the drop down fridge slides on a larger scale. We are hoping to have a light one made to protect it from the rain etc. Is there any change out of a grand.

The main cost for me was the rack itself.
The Kayak holders were $98 and the Rhino boat loader roller $95.
I assume they could be adapted for any rack.
I believe the bag that the tent comes in is waterproof if that is any help.
I haven't tried to upload photo's before but I will have a go later.
I am in the Armadale area if that is any help, happy to drop around and show you if you like.
Apart from that I suggest you give Front Runner (Opposite Lock)
a ring 9362 1744.

Thanks Rowdy you are out our way,we are in Huntingdale have now got the tent and yes the bag is weather proof but they never quite seal around the zippers.
We put it up on the rack today and it wasn't as heavy as we thought. Might go with a box but use the rollers to make it easy to get in.Will give you a call and try and catch up.
Cheers Brian

Thule make a kayak carrier that drops down the side of the car. It's called the Hullavator. You may be able to use that. I think they're about $650.
