Hi Trekkie, So nervous on my first thread I did not give all the info. We have a 100 V8 petrol cruiser and are pulling a 21ft windsor. We estimate max three months on the road. We hope to stay in parks and also free camp. We have got a camps 4 and camps caravan parks. Looking at maybe accross the nullabor and up centre to Darwin then along the top end coast back down to Perth.Regards Michael

G'day Michael, you seem to have a rough idea of your route & the time you have allowed so I suggest you use the internet to fill the gaps. Google each town/location to check attractions & sights.
Email the local Tourist Office & ask for an info package..many have one to mail out. Be aware that the time you are travelling will be hot, 40 plus in the Kimberley & similar in the top end.
Plenty of water is the go, for you & the car. The biggest enemy
of the caravan traveller is weight... will cost a heap in fuel & adds
stress to your rig, so pack light. Travel slowly,..once again fuel is
saved, stress is reduced. Dont travel in the dark...brings a whole
new level of dangers...not necessary...better to start early & stop early too. You get a better campsite & the water will still be hot.
Google is your friend & EO can help too..dont be afraid to ask..
cheers.....oldbaz.

Michael,

The Camps book will be a good guide to spots to stay along the way. Beyond that, just chat to fellow travellers as you travel along. It's not daunting and you'll be amazed at how much information you'll pick up as you go. The hard part will be deciding which bits you have to miss because you don't have enough time.

Michael.

Thanks Guys,
It has been so good since we have started caravaning, which is this year. Even on our first short trips, everyone is so helpful. There is a bonding we have felt amongst fellow 4wdrivers and caravaners alike. all for making us feel at home.
