Fraser Island - current conditions anyone?

Am contemplating hitting Fraser next week Wed to Sunday. Anyone been there in the last few weeks and can give me any feedback regarding conditions? Is there many people over there at the moment? Cheers

Does look good.
Good link, forgot it was there.

Looks like good beach travel in the morning with the high tides in the afternoon.

hi coyote,
came back sunday after 10 days camping on the beach at waddy.
drove straight there from inskip point so only saw the beach at low tide each way and no problems, once you get past indian head the numbers drop away drastically. we were the only site besides les the fisho for 4 days and only 3-4 sites last weekend.
this is a quiet time, the end of the tailor run even though a few about. we went to sandy cape fishing a few times and caught some nice whiting and plenty of dart. the nghala rocks are as usual very soft sand and some rocks to cross but ok for the experienced.
interesting track condition to wathumba, we had the best conditions in 15 visits took us 30 min each way.

regards peter

Thanks for the tips, unfortunatly I didn't get to read it before I left but it was ike you say.. I haven't been there in years and found the number of tourists amazing.. 4 x bus loads at Eli.. but yes from Orchid beacj north was nice and quiet.. we did it tough and decided due to rain etc to rough it and stay at King Fisher Resort.. Loved it.. Cheers
