Hi all,

Well finally the house settled on the 3rd November and we picked up our van on the 4th, after a few hiccups (a $3,000 injector pump for the cruiser...... ect) we were on our way on the 8th November, we stayed at Inksip Point for a few days it was great, we are now at Bundaberg and wanted to give the Van park a good rap, its the Glenlodge Caravan park - Goodwood Road Bundaberg - very safe, clean and very friendly, we highly recommend it, we have paid $32/night for a powered sight and we have the 2 kids. We took the 2 girls to Mon Repos turtle rookery on Sat night and witnessed a loggerhead turtle lay 139 eggs then we helped the rangers relocate the eggs to a higher nest, the girls thought this was great!!! We are off to 1770/Agnes waters tomorrow, hopefully some good fishing.

Regards
Matt, Caz & Kids

No worries cheetah, we go by recommendations, word of mouth is the best form of advertising. If you are lucky you may even get to see the sugarcane burn off from the park - spectacular sight.

Cheers

Some great places up there in Bundy mate. Get down to Bargara for lunch and maybe Moore Park beach for a swim...if you do, beep your horn as you drive past my brothers place at the intersection of Booloongie road.

1770 is pretty good, but getting a little over populate I think. And it is a great place to get a sunset on the water on the East Coast...cool.

Have a blast...I will be up there next March.

Hey Dunco

We went to Elliott Heads for a swim - lovely place and we where the only ones there!!!! We have heard that 1770 is really expensive and there is not much in the way of supplies there so we have stocked up here in Bundy and we are staying at a van park in Agnes waters - only $30 per night, hopefully its nice, its only 6 yrs old so we will see. Will post my comments on it when we get there.........

Cheers

Howdy to you:)
Glad you enjoyed our part of the world. If I had known you were at Mon Repos we could have had a beer or five at my place which is only 2 km's from there. Amazing experience to see the turtles hey? Bet the kids had a ball!
Happy traveling to you and your family!
Cheers, Udo

Hi Udo,

We have really liked Bundy...... the people here seem really proud of their town, I love the main street of Bundy very neat and tidy and couldn't believe that the shops were closed on Sunday!! (we thought this was a good thing) Yes Mon Repos turtles are a must and olny $22 for a family of 4 although you are not guaranteed to see a turtle - we were very lucky.

Cheers

1770 is a great place. Was there a couple of months ago.

Getting a bit Noosa-ish for us though.

Go for a drive south through the Deepwater national park, and take your fishing gear.

We had a good poke around and called in at Rules beach and the boat ramp off Long Is on Baffle Ck.

If you are looking for a detour, try Rules Beach. This is what Inskip and Rainbow beach used to look like 25 yrs ago. Too difficult to get your van down there to camp but with a tent you will more than likely have the beach to yourselves.

Safe travels,
Trevor.

I am lucky enough to have my parents living in Moorepark Beach - so i know the area well ( north of bundy )

some of the other places you should visit other than Mon repos and 1770 would be Bargara ( great spot for lunch at the local pub and then a stroll down the the water)

or Elliot heads - great spot to swim ( google earth - 24° 55.324'S 152° 29.419'E) can even launch your boat from the beach there

maybe a drive around coral cove....

there are a few others i cant remember for the life of me .... but Elliot heads is one of my favs
