to Ebor/Armidale. Our boys enjoy the
bush camps but we thought we really owed them a fix of the Gold Coast/theme parks. We want to come back thru Ebor/Armidale but I'm a bit put off by last year's journey back from Straddie when we came thru Woodenbong/Urbenville/
Tenterfield. Some of those hills were monsters and never-ending. I've got a bigger van now and didn't fancy another slog up that road. Would it be better going down the Pac Hwy to
Grafton and going through
Nymboida???

STEVE
yes thats a great drive...bit windy in sections but
well worth a look.
take the time to have a look at the
Ebor falls ( plenty of rain so they'll be in ful splendor @ the moment) and enjoy the scenery since the big wet has the country looking brilliant.
PS..we are at Maclean if ya have time call in for a coffee stop if ya like, cheers
enjoy the trip.

Mark,
we're actuually staying at Corindi Beach for a week before the Goold Coast. Did it last year and a few of our neighbours were from McLean. Really good friendly site. Did a bit of poking around the beaches and forests. Great country around there. Might even give you a shout. . ;-)

cheers Mark.
I like the: "a bit cooler only for a few short months" on the
Ebor link. I reckon it'd be a bit cooler than "a bit cooler" if you know what I mean.
Still, we can take it.

Hi Steve,
Got to agree with Mark G.
I've lived in both
Grafton and Armidale, some beautiful country to be seen in that area.
As Mark commentd
Ebor Falls will be in full cry at the moment and
well worth seeing.
Toss the kids in the Guy Fawkes River,
water straight out of that river for a shower brings back memories! (
Ebor rodeo ground amenities pump the
water straight out of the river and straight into the showers!)
And tossing a lure into a river one afternoon trying to catch a rising trout only to realise after half a dozen casts I was trying to catch a platypus!
Yes, the road can be a little windy but the country is spectacular!

Grey hair is hereditary, you get it from children. Baldness is caused by watching the Wallabies.

Great drive..... bit windy up from
Nymboida to Billy's Crk so watch the log trucks if coming through the week (they on ch.29 UHF) & the roads all sealed now.
Ebor falls worth a look as mentioned, so is the L.P Dutton Trout hatchery a good place for a BBQ / Lunch & kids can hand feed the fish 10 mins further west of
Ebor on the Waterfall way .
Wollomombi falls is also worth a look about 40 k's east of Armidale only 1 min of the road just past the Kempsey rd turn off.
Enjoy

last time I was down there we'd come from Jackadgery and some Clarence/camps - then turned off and went over the hills from
Nymboida over to Glenreagh and back to the coast where we were
camping. It was all a bit rushed at the time because we'd not really allowed enough time. This time we'll stay at Corindi and explore the bush, then off to the
Gold Coast and come back down to Ebor/Wollomombi/Styxx and have a poke around there. Just wanted to avoid the worst/steepest of hills. Maybe it's not too bad/slow.

I've been along the
Grafton -
Nymboida section which was pretty tame (not too steep) but was wondering what the rest was like?????????
We were thinking of heading for Styxx River around 23rd Jan or thereabouts on the way home. Might even linger a bit if there's no yahoos about.
