Found this on Ebay for 36k
What mods would it need for outback Desert touring.
I think airconditioning would be a must.
Can't decide on the tyers coopers or BF goodrich A'TS

Alvis Saracen Armoured Personnel Carrier built in 1952. It is the 29th one off the production line and meticulously restored over the last five years. Comes with as much original equipment (Complete Equipment Schedule) as could be tracked down including working radios, antennae, power generator, empty ammunition boxes etc. For safety reasons, the intercom is circa 1980 to allow the crew commander to talk to the driver. Spare parts can normally be sourced from the UK in seven working days. Other than the B80 Rolls Royce straight-eight engine that is in excellent condition, the transfer case, gear box, fuel lines, fuel pump, twin power valve and hydraulic system have all been refurbished. The exterior has been sand blasted and painted in Northern Island colours where the vehicle spent five years of its time on Operations. Currently the fuel access plate seals are being replaced, and the front left and centre right hand inner bevel box seals are being repaired. The vehicle is currently housed in the 1st/15th Royal New South Wales Lancers Museum in Sydney. The option to leave the vehicle in the Museum, and use or display when needed, is available. The vehicle pays for itself in film and display work. Seller can teach buyer to drive. Requires a Heavy Rigid licence to drive it on public roads. The owner is reluctantly selling to take-on the next restoration challenge.

Rob.

Hey Rob.

I am getting another OKA for 38.500, but if this has 13 seats or more I will grab it as anything over 4.5 tonne and 12 seats gets me a 18.1 cents rebate on fuel.

Not only that, all the tourists get out of the way when they see my Oka imagine what they would do if they saw that coming at them.LOL.

Cheers Steve.

Know just how those tourists feel.
Came across your Oka at Twin Falls in August.
That is a wide machine for a narrow track.
Glad to see you doing the community a service and keeping the shrubbery back on the track. :o)

It is a shame you didn't pop in for a tea, coffee, cold water, or a beer...as many other forum persons didn't this year.

The invite to any EO member coming into our area still stands.

Sorry Steve.

I did talk to Colette about calling in to see you.
We both are a bit shy. I was hoping it was you driving the Oka.
Had the courage to talk to your young bloke, but it wasn't you.
He said you just got back from a tour and were in the office having a drink. Sounded like you were pretty busy. So we didn't call in when we were in Jabiru. We just don't like imposing on people. Yes, I know it wouldn't have been imposing, and we say the same thing to people coming through Brisbane, hoping they would call in.
Strange mob, these human beings.

I am going to post a road test on one in a bit more than a week. The driving lesson was given to me as a bi(~^@@& present and I have been really looking forward to it. I will see if I can fire shot across Tasmania LOL. Actually the guy who owns the one I will drive has just had to rebuild the engine and gearbox and you would have thought they were bullet proof.

John, are you going to hook the KK on and do an overnighter?
