If we have a camp fire we use it in the morning to help cool the ashes before departing - otherwise Water a tree or a flower when it cools down :-) Cheers Tony

I was visiting a mate in Sydney about 20 years ago and his 10 year old son made us a cuppa using the hot dog water. We still have a laugh about it.

About 30 years ago I worked in a Bank in Melbourne which contained a large metal urn in the staff room for tea/coffee. On of the tellers decided to chuck in a couple of corn cobs for his lunch and just left the water in it after they were cooked. The manager, later requested 2 cups of coffee for some clients in his office and one of them actually threw up over his desk when he tried to drink it. Everyone knew who did it but to this day he still denies it. No! it wasn't me.

I use the hot water for a first pass in washing up e.g. the fry pan. Still need to use clean water in a second washing phase but it's good for cleaning off grease or soaking pans. Every bit helps when water is scarce & precious.

I try not to boil food for that reason. Its a waste of water.
Use bread instead of pasta.
