This year I had to do a refresher course for my senior first aid, so I have chosen to do the Remote First Aid course.

It is a 2 day course over this weekend so when I get back I will let you know how it went, some of you that travel remote may be interested.

Cheers Steve.

Hi Steve,
As a massage therapist I have to do snr 1st aid every 3 yrs and CPR every 12mths - I have been told that you can do a one day refresher snr first aid instead of the 2 days I would be interested in your thoughts on the remote first aid and whether it will still qualify me with regards to my provider numbers for clients medical benefits.

Cheers
Caz

No a remote first aid course is different then a senior first aid course.

You have to have your senior first aid certificate before you do a remote course.

Difference in a senior to a remote is...

More monitoring of the patience condition, retrieval coordination, long term care and comfort, transportation and more in depth first aid.

If you hold a senior first aid certificate you have to do a refresher every 3 years as you said, before you had to do the whole course again over 2 days but not they do a refresher that is 1 day only.

You only have to have a senior first aid certificate to be reconised as a first aider under law, the remote part is a option for people who work or travel in remote areas.
