nissan 4.2 boost pressure ?

Gentleman

My good friend has a 2001 GU 4.2 Patrol he read somewhere it only has about 4 psi boost pressure would this be right ??
he is thinking about putting a bigger exhaust on it and a boost compensator
I told him you can get upgrade kits from Denco and he could put a on it but he doesnt have the funds right know to do that so we are just thinking out loud and wondering if any one out there has done something like that ??

It is typically around 8-9 Psi ,if its only 4 there is something amiss.

All TD42T (turboed) GU Patrols already have a boost compensator so there is no need to add this. Standard boost pressure is 9PSI.

Cheapest power upgrade is to retune by adjusting fuel pump and boost pressure. Cost me an hour on a dyno at $160 / hr (already had a boost control valve fitted). Get a reputable prson who knows the TD42 to do this.

Then look at dump pipe and 3" exhaust which is around $1000.
