Hi
There are quite a few spot to
camp with a trailer but have variable features.
The best one (IMHO) is Boraneang which is in the central part on a gravel road (
Glenelg River Road). Because it is off the bitumen, not quite as busy as others but at
Easter, everwhere in the Gramps is very busy. We only live 50 km away and don't go there at
easter because of the crowds. Boreang has good long drop loo's and pit fire and has not yet suffered from pine post disease.
Buandick is off the Henty Highway on the western side and has a reasonable
camping area but pine posts make it hard for a camper trailer. Good walks from the
camping area, best one is not singed posted but I can email directions if interested. Again will be very busy over
easter as only 10 km off bitumen.
There is another
camp ground about 15 km south of
Halls Gap right on the road, will be packed.
In the north, Roses Gap OK, Mt Stapleton dry and hot and not much shade.
Some other caming grounds still closed after the fires so don,t assume all those on maps will be open.
You need to get there early, thursday lunchtime to get a reasonable spot and many will roll up all night and
camp in the dark. Also, there will be no water at all of these sites so take your own
Theres plenty to do. The best drive is over Goat Track and down Victoria Range track.
hope this helps

Thanks
Will be arriving on the
Easter monday so should avoid the
Easter campers, but will catch the school holiday crowd. Are the crowds likely to have died down a bit once the public holidays are over?
Boreang sounds good.
