Outnabout David (SA)
I am looking for some info from someone who has done
Googs track recently.
I need to know do you need to get permission still ?and if so from who.
Do you need to notify anyone in
Ceduna?
Is there a cost?
I niticed from a search that the
homestead has been sold and that the new owners don't want you to stop hence the need for up to date info.We have so little time to enjoy our land

Hi David,
Went through there last
Easter - great track, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Yes, you need to advise the NPWS in
Ceduna who can provide you with the required pass. Alternatively you can purchase a Statewide Pass but you still need to advise the
Ceduna office of your trip (they generally want dates, rego numbers etc. It's worth giving them a phone call as they will post you all sorts of relevant
information.
Their contact number is: NPWS
Ceduna Ph 08 86253144 or Fax 08 86253123
If you want to do a side trip from Googs
Lake to
Childara rockhole, you will need written permission from
Lake Everard Station. The NPWS office can give you the contact details if you want them (it's worth the effort if you have the time).
And, you are correct about not stopping at the
homestead - the new owners prefer you to simply drive on past.
Have a great trip!!
Regards, Gerry

I have a Statewide Parks Pass. Called in to NPWS at
Ceduna in June this year to get a mudmap but nobody asked for rego info or anything like that. Not sure of the camping cost. You can
camp virtually anywhere along the track. Did not even see the
homestead on the way in. Mind you it was just at sunset. Good campsites in the dunes around Googs
Lake. Didn't go to Childara Rocks. Leaving it for another time.
Have a good trip.
Cheers, Willem
