Just How Good is GPS Oz to Deal With.

Those of you that follow this forum, will have read a post that I submitted a few days ago regarding how quick a GPS mouse should lock on and get a fix when using moving maps. I have a Garmin USB 18 GPS mouse that would take about 2 minutes to get a fix when started for the first time any day.

The general consensus was that the Global Sat BU 353 was the way to go, as the members and people that responded to my post had very good reports on how good and quick they worked.

I phoned GPS Oz in Sydney yesterday to order one of these hopefully good GPS Sirf 111 BU 353 Mouse. Well less than 24 hours later it was in my letter box at lunch time today in country South Australia.

I quickly booted up my laptops, loaded the CD and installed the software, set up OziExplorer for the new GPS mouse, took the first laptop outside and the first time that I used it, I had a fix in under 1 second, I could not believe my eyes. So the proof is in the purchase and I had loaded, installed the software and had the unit working in less time to the old Garmin would take to get a fix.

My only advice for any person out there looking at purchasing a GPS Mouse, do not go past the BU 353 and GPS Oz in Mona Vale for their extremely fast and professional service.

Cheers

Stephen

Absolute champion is Brian.

Everytime I've dealt with them they've been fantastic.

May I ask what the unit cost?

Hi Geoff
Human nature the way it is, I phoned 2 suppliers in Adelaide and only one shop kept the BU 353, and their price was $110 for the unit.
I purchased the unit over the phone from Sydney for $99 and $10 for the express postage to South Australia, with a net saving of $1 and not having to do a 320 kilometre round trip to Adelaide to purchase the unit.

You can see why I am more than very impressed with their ultra fast service.

Cheers

Hi Stephen,
Yep, I can see were that deal would impress you!

A $1 discount and the best part of a tank of fuel in your pocket is certainly a powerful incentive!

I have had a few purchases through GPS Oz and found the advice to be accurate, the prices competitive, and the service excellent.
Top crew to deal with.
No affiliations.

Hi Austastar,
I am like you, I have no ties to this very professional company and the best type of advertising that any company can have is customer satisfaction.

Well done the team at GPS Oz

You have the three toys there Richard, I just have one, you have the HF too, I don't. As a lady friend we know said to another friend recently, 'we have given up the thought of ever having money'. It was all a perspective as she had just returned from travelling 1st class round the world and visiting a son and new grandchild in the US. They live in a grand house, but the money, well.......

Its good to deal with someone who goes 4wding as well.
Some years back, I was swimming in the main pool at Dalhousie, and was chatting to a guy nearby - ended up being Brian from GPSOz.

He at one stage had a very neat 80 Series with a 5.0 litre fuel injected Holden V8 and auto transmission in it.

Last time I was at his store it was for sale.
