We are at the end of the Strezlecki Ranges East of the fire that is coming from south east of Churchill... south of Traralgon Gippsland.
We are safe for the moment, but a wind change is due.

All the best Royce, we lost friends in the Eyre Peninsula fires in 2004 and a few friends who lost everything in the last few fires on the Eyre Peninsula, so understand how you must be feeling at the moment....

We feel for you mob Royce, dead set.
Floods and cyclones are bad enough, but the mere thought of your fires..........No mate.
May the weather gods become moderate.

Hope things calm down for you over there Royce, I can't believe all that you guys on the Eastern Seaboard are going through, fires, floods and to top it off you are having an unusual heatwave.
Stay Safe.
Our hearts go out to you all.
Cheers

Still raining here in
Townsville and more to come.
I measured 200mm in one night a couple of days ago.
Wish I could send it down south to assist with putting out the fires.

2.56am.... Wife and Daughter and I have been out fighting the fire in the bush down the
hill. They're getting a couple of hours sleep.
Thankfully neighbours came to help... all of us CFA members with some knowledge, but only shovels and rake hoes to fight with.
Hard work. Finally a tanker came to help. I left them to mop up.
Fantastic farmer mate using his big tractor did amazing feats of driving and making an earth break around some of it. Very steep land.
Not over yet. No sleep tonight.

my dad lost his cousin no way of getting out in his wheel chair in long gully.
jim had a close call as did many.
the in-laws had just been evacyated from whittlesea ,even had to leave their van their and when they got home we had already taken all the photos and some other goods as the fire was at the back fence the neighbours lost a shed and burnt some land .
they will have power tonight or early tomorow but the have a genset of the brother.
looks like a deliberate attack as well ,where do some people get off.
