This was the highlight of the
Adelaide Caravan and Camping show for me. There were a stack of ancient caravans being pulled by vintage cars and trucks. This one was the biggest and called "the Highway Palace" - built in 1947 and pulled by a 1946 Fargo. Gets 4mpg and the trailer section weighs over 5 ton. But its got a sunken bath (no shower) and the
toilet was a can than you emptied manually!
Awesome looking truck and 5th wheeler!!!!

Pretty sure that 'caravan world' magazine did an article about its discovery in a paddock and then restoration. Pics of it as a total wreck, up to as it is today. Huge job, beautifully done.
Was an edition about three years ago.
