Melb to Syd, Good Half Way Point Stopover?

Friends, Forumites and Country Folk,

I have to go to Sydney next week and cannot leave until early afternoon so I'm going to stop about half way rather than getting in at Midnight.

I'll be taking a small camper and would like some suggestion around towns about half way and a suitable Caravan Park. I'm after something that has an eatery nearby (walking distance). Eatery can be anything from a Pub to a decent Take Away joint.
