Thought I would just put up a couple of photos of the new 4WD; planning on doing the Simpson and CSR in her. What do you think?

Just Kidding! It belongs to my next door neighbour who is a military vehicle enthusiast. But thought you would like the pics anyway!

OK, for all those who can't wait any longer, here is a full description. 1942 M3 Scout Car, LH drive. Uses 40 litres to 100kms. Engine is a flat 6 cyl petrol, 87HP. The roller on the front is to aid the vehicle to drive through ditches and trenches.

Apart from a couple of minor fittings, the vehicle is in original build.

Quote "The roller on the front is to aid the vehicle to drive through ditches and trenches. " I can see Willems mind ticking over now.

Look forward to it. Will you require "back seats" for the grankids?

Hey Fred B

One of the ones sold off here here in the 70's is it ???

Looks good for an old White Scout Car ...

Reckon Willem would like the roller off the front for his anthills but the M3 halftrack version might suit him better ... lol

Apparently this is one of several sold off as surplus in the mid to late 60's. It spent most of it's life in Adelaide before being sold off and moved to Sydney. It's current owner moved to darwin late last year. Apperntly it's twin was here in Darwin for many years. I have a vague memory of it as I was in Darwin prior to cyclone Tracy, and again afterwards. My memory is that it was badly damaged during Tracy.... but that's my memory and I can't be certain.

This one is well maintained and well loved by it's owner complete with original instruction / maintenance manual.

I am glad you have all enjoyed it. He has plans for other WW11 vehicles so I may in later months bring you more photos to peak your interest.
