Are you talking just rego or have you included compulsory Third Party Insurance as some states include that with the overall cost of rego.

I am in NSW and it costs me around $600 for my vehicle (including greenslip). I believe, however that the cost of greenslips has recently risen. That is for a Landrover Disco.

It also costs me about $300 to register my camper trailer, which I hate paying.

For my Vespa, yes Vespa...lol it only costs me about $200.00

Forgot to mention that up here we have to pay compulsory third party insurance which could also account for the higher rate.

In Queensland I paid $688.35 in January for my HJ61 Sahara - that includes CTP. It would vary slightly as insurers CTP costs vary slightly.

GPM Same vehicle as yours in the NT $635.45, that include $38.45 for yearly rego inspection, In the NT all vechicle have to get a green slip every 12 months to pass rego, if car is over 5 years old.
We still have some s boxes on the road so obviously some inspection stations are open to negotiation.

HI Steve,
Yes I know what you mean - when we lived in Canberra we had to get an inspection done every year at rego time - but it was free at a Government inspection station but the queue of cars every day meant it always took its time. Funny thing is I was talking to an inspector one day and he said he had failed brand new cars coming in for their rego.... AS you say it doesnt stop poor vehicles on the road anyway - many people who work in Canberra lived at Queanbeyan just across the border in NSW and were driving on ACT roads. This was many years ago - so things could be different now.
Cheers,
GPM

I was up in the Adelaide Hills today looking over a valley and a few vines - just magic! Nice to live near work though. Prado cost the same as any other 4cyl car. Our Xtrail was $564 for 12 months last June, so I guess a Prado would be the same. Its a big difference.

Davoe, yes and no.
Yes you can, but it has to have a permanent bed installed and get approved by Regency Park.
It will then get weighbridged at full load to determine the cost of rego. DOT couldn't tell me how much it was going to cost, so I gave up.

Hi Ross,
Yes, it is.
Apart from LHD the only difference I can see are velour seats and door cards, front foglights, a warning beeper (over 120 KPH) on the speedo.

Dennis

Just renewed the rego for our 2007 dual cab Navara - free for the pensioner owner but the green slip (compulsory 3rd party insurance) was about $250,
the 2008 caravan in my name - no green slip necessary but the rego was $393.00.
Neither required a pink slip (roadworthy inspection) as NSW has just changed its rules and only requires these after 5 years from initial registration date.
Something else we discovered was that renewal can be done up to three months before due date. Ours werent due until April but we are leaving for 6 months away next week and wanted to get it attended to before we left.
Very handy when planning longer trips.
Regards,
Heather

my 4WD truck is $380 a year (vehicles over 4.5t and under 12t)
+ $217 third party for "goods vehicle"

everything under 4.5t goes by weight $16.00 per 100kg
+ third party.

thats WA

in QLD my truck was registered for 6 months and it did cost me over
$1000 in registration and insurance since trucks are a LOT more expensive in QLD than WA

have fun

As a pensioner/Grey Nomad I'm always moving or ready to move, One cannot keep re-registering the vehicle in the states as one moves around, I don't know how long I'm going to be here, might 1 more month or 12 months ,

Don't forget that Qld opted for the 8c/litre fuel subsidy rather than cheaper rego. They have considered scrapping it a few times and reducing rego. but most people preferred the cheaper fuel. I guess it depends on how many kms. you travel which is going to be best.
