Hi all
Anyone been around Rainbow Beach lately? I haven't been there since the big storms of about 2 years ago. At that time the beack was covered in trees and a lot of rock was exposed, meaning you couldn't drive along the beach to Double Island point.
Didn't get up that way last year, did a lap instead.
I wonder whether the recent storms may have done even more damage.
Any info appreciated.
Regards

We lost 8m of dunes at Agnes night before last. She oaks on the top of the dunes are now in the water.

Turtle nests at Bargara and Mon Repos were washed away with the dunes as well.

Looks like the storm will do a u-turn and come back in the next day or two but as a cat 1-2 and eventually a low.

We have warnings for 80kph winds and heavy rain for Bundy tonight. So we will see.

Cheers

Hamish has turned 180º and is heading northwest back up the coast.

Not really well I'd say.
They said on the radio this morning that on a mid to high tide Kelly's beach is underwater so I would imagine More Park beach would be the same as it is less protected by rocks.
