Sunday evening on channel 7 saw Jamie Drurie sailing on Lake Eyre. Does anybody know here he was and where the Lake Eyre Yacht Club is situated?

He mentions being at Kalamurina Station which is at the northern end of the lake.

Here's a link to the program if anyone's interested. Click on the desert oasis video:

Some of the scenes showed far too may ' healthy' looking trees ??
I couldn't visualise where around Lake Eyre it was supposed to be...and even the sand looked kinda yellowish !!

A little bit of creative license was used no doubt, with shots of various locations "nearby." Still we are really looking forward to a flight from William Creek in May when we are out there on our 4 Corners Explorer trip. According to our sources, the water level in the lake should peak in about 6 weeks.

Interesting video about Kalamurina, and nice view of Warbuton Creek.

I am a full member of LEYC and got an email last week saying that the commodore of the club was heading back out there to sail for 3 weeks. Is on the northern part of the lake.
Leyc clubhouse is located in Marree.
I am hoping to head out there for a week to go for another sea kayak in may but am waiting for Bob to email me back to see what the water is doing

Peter, where do they launch their boats from? I'm assuming its some distance downstream from Kalamurina. And can you sail/paddle/motor up the Kallacoopah?
