Gday,

Very new to internet and this site.

I have blown my 2000 model 3.0 t/diesel engine big time.

What I want to know is can I buy a 4.2 t/d engine and replace the 3.0 litre?

I did see some other site yesterday where someone had done this with minimal problems but have lost the site.

Does anyone know anyone who has done it or can any advice be given in doing this? Can it be done?

All help & advice is appreciated.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Ed,

LOL there's a fair bit of dross amongst it though so he'll have to wade through it a bit.

The simple answer to your question is, yes it can be done (and has been done)...

Have a look at thread #'s 66022, and 67055

Andrew

You posted this before?

Anyway I think that you might have to make some changes to engine mounts, radiator and you may also have to fit a new gearbox.

Google it. There is heaps of info out there

Cheers

Check with your Nissan dealer, I believe they have very cheap 4.2 motors.

Andrew

Contact Jason at Total Care 4wd at Seven Hills Sydney 0421 068 878.
He will steer you in the right direction and I believe he did the Toni Project.
I have no affiliation with Total Care 4wd except that he does a lot of my work and is a very straight forward guy.

John
