Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Fraser Range Sheep Station and if they'd recommend it as a good rest stop on the Nullarbour.

If its the one i am thinking of yes it's ok. They do a home style meal in the old shearing shed and if you don't mind the mild smell of lanolin it's good. We parked on the grass where they had water and power and in the morning we looked around the old homestead buildings. Yeah I would do it if can plan around it.

Thanks Owen - I was thinking that this might be better than headin on into Norseman and staying in town. Found it by accident on the www and it took my fancy a bit.

Hello Patrol22.

Yes, I recommend it. Bush setting in amunst old station buildings renovated for camp patrons. All drive through sites with garden shrubs in between. Communal campfire. Hosts in Oct 08 were caretaker and very very friendly. Not sure if they are still there. Not an expensive tarrif and pay for hot water separatly. Short walk up to hill top lookout is wort it.

It's a very nice place for an overnighter but last time I heard, there were question marks over its future.

Give them a ring to confirm if they are still open.

I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy

Just checked their web site & it states "The park & accomodation is closed until further notice"
Might be worth checking out further before you depart.
