I can imagine what was said in the cab at the time.
I once had a mate make a similar mistake in a much bigger fire truck. The instant response was raucus laughter, closely followed by "Who should we tell? Or more importantly who shold we NOT tell?" Some time later the question of how do we get it out came up.
Whatever they said at the time by now the hole is a lot bigger and the water deeper and faster. And the laughter is louder.
It is an event the driver will never be allowed to forget, hope he's got a sense of humour.
