hi mark,a trip to wombeyan caves and thru to yerranderie (ghost town). its an old silver mining town, along the limeburners track.you could camp at limeburners flats along the way or go straight to yerranderie.upon leaving you could exit to dingo dell(nicespot to camp),kowmung river, jenolan caves and katoomba or up to hill end but that is getting abit away from mittagong. cheers

Contact the TLCC in Sydney they have a property in mittagong, or on the road to Wombeyan Caves.

No "treks" but excellent camping at Bungonia SRA near Marulan. Good walks and good facilities. Also good camping at Wollondilly River crossing between Mittagong and Wombeyan. Can also recommend Limeburners and Yerranderie, can go right thru the Kowmung to Jenolan if you're keen.

If its warm, the area where the road to the Wombeyan Caves crosses the Wollondilly River is very very nice to camp and swim.

will be around the dingo dell area myself around that time and yeah the wombeyan caves are awsome the rangers are real freindly there too.
Am planning to do the Kanagra walls to yerrendrie trek have done it before not real sutable for a camper (the trek that is) but the trek is just an overnighter so you could leave the trailor at mittagong.
just before you leave let the forum know if your going to do the trek we might see you on the way...........

Mark, there are a few treks in the area referred to in the Boiling Billy Publications book - 4WD Treks Close to Sydney. There's also a fellow (screen name "Bushman") on the Overlander forum @ www.forums.overlander.com.au/
(sorry link isn't working) who lives in the area and can help with info.Smile, you're on ExplorOz
