Hi Tony & Julie,
There are numerous groups around, unfortunate for us there doesn't seam to be a slide-on camper group. Maybe one should be started, but where do you begin?
We own a Wombat Conversion Slide-on mounted on a Landcruiser cab chassis, that is easily removed. It's very cosy much like a motorhome. With this set-up it allows us to go anywhere the 4wd will take us. We like to travel to remote outback areas, recently we did a Simpson Desert crossing from Delhousie over Big Red to Birdsville races. We just got back from Kangaroo Is. Other trips Cape York, Kimberly's and many more. We just love the outback and go anywhere our hearts desire.
If I knew how? I would send you a photo of our slide on.
Where do you Like to travel and how long have you been tripping around ???
Cheers Allan & Mary Anne

To post a photo just follow the link at the bottom of the box (Insert Image)(Browse on your computer, click on photo and load) Sounds like a nice rig you have. We made ours in the shed.

We like traveling anywhere! Not retired yet so do lots of little trips and one big yearly trip. This year the Simpson after traveling across the top. Thats not until August this year. I suppose if there is enough interest a group will form. Obviously there are not many interested on this site, they even tell you to go elswhere :-) Oh well! Cheers Tony

Yes, we are in a similar situation. We try and fit one extended trip per year.
Best of luck-- Mary Anne

based in Qld, interesting van, both slide-on and caravan, basic price $36,000 for slide-on or $46,000 for c/van

you are on the wrong site.
go to CMCA your setup qualifies as a motorhome
and your better off there. you also get a far better insurance
through CMCA than you probably have currently.

good luck

Hi gmd,
Thanks for your reply. We are current members of CMCA.

NOt sure if your correct saying this is the wrong site. As far as I'm aware, this being the site for like minded poeple exploring oz. doesn't matter what rig up one has we are all equal and communicate with each other.

Hi Guys,

As a slide on owner myself I have always wanted a slide on group, There was one some time ago but it was closed down despite being used quite a bit.

I have had a Trayon Camper for 7 years and am at the moment exploring buying a slightly more luxurious model for our now ,older ages

Go here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Australian_Slide-on_Campers

If you don't have a yahoo groups account you will have to join, a simple process. When applying to join the group I am asking for a little info about you ONLY to stop spammers, who will be kicked off without notice

Hi Rev's

Yep the group is up, only a few people so far. It will take a while to grow.
