Does anyone remember those metal cradles you use to screw under the dashboard and slot in a car radio/cassette player?

They were usually folded steel and painted black.
Well, I need one.
The usual suspects - car radio places, wreckers, etc, say they haven't seen one in years. If anyone has one surplus to requirements, please contact me. Can swap for cash or beer vouchers.

cheers
Gary

Find a radio ham, a lot of mobile rigs use cradles.

Good suggestion, thanks.

Are they in the yellow pages?

Would a radio "ham" be contagious though?

Some of the older ones will probably glow in the dark and you should not poke your fingers through the bars ! :-))

Where abouts are you ?

There you go beelzebug - try a marine shop. (well done Paul)

I am a bit far away from Sydney at present - will not be there till about Oct. I do have a few cradles from old truck RT radios. Just took one out of one of my 4wd's a week ago.

Saw the same thing in SuperCheap but plastic.
Designed to be fitted on top of the dash as a pod as well as under as a cradle.

Cheers......Lionel.
