Is there an internet site where people can match up for trips? For example, anyone doing the Flinders in Oct Holidays? We don't need a professional Tagalong but some company would be nice to share the experience. Seems there must be an awful lot of people out there who would use such a site.

Yes, we have already advised that this is a feature of Membership that we are soon adding. Now that are back its one of the priorities for adding to the compliment of member benefits. How it will work is that members can post details of their upcoming trip and make requests for interested company. Members can elect to have people make contact with them direct - we have to ensure this is an option to protect privacy. So, stay tuned. The idea is great and we see the need for it and support your requests entirely - just a matter of time and of course, ensuring that we get something for doing it - ie. membership.ExplorOz

G'day Jimbo. I'm a visitor to this great site. First time on. Self and family - wife and 4 kids - are planning a trip in late September early October via: Broken Hill, Tibooburra, Cameron's Corner, Merty Merty, Innamincka, back down the Strez to Arkaroola, Wilpena and then home again. We're from Sydney. What direction are you heading from, where are you going and when do you expect to be there? Sounds like an interrogation.

Wow, Brian, that's quite a trek you're planning. A couple of years ago, three mates and myself set off from Parkes NSW and headed to Innaminka via Cobar, then down the Strez to Port Augusta and back home via the track next to the railway line from Broken Hill to Parkes. Ten days in a supercharged 80 series Cruiser with all four blokes taking turns driving and the Engel chokkers full of Coke Cola ... hint for next time : never ever let on you can cook a half decent meal over a camp fire.:-)

This trip sees myself and my wife and my 17 y.o. son and my father-in-law (if we can convince him). We'll just be going from Parkes around 27th September and tooling along to the Flinders perhaps via Mungo NP. The school holidays end 12 October so we'll be back in Parkes by then via Broken Hill.

Look out for us. Green/silver Jackaroo with 8ft Rhino roof rack and Porta Potti :-) . I said I'm just not prepared to go anywhere without my Porta Potti!

Wouldn't it be great if this trek-dating could take off on Exploroz. I might have finally invented something!

we've got 20 days to do the trip. This should be enough without being too rushed. Shall keep an eye out for your rig. We'll be in a white 100 series with a black cage style roof rack with spare wheels in it .... towing a camper trailer. This is our first 'big trip'. May be in Blinman for the long week-end camp oven comp. Safe travelling.

Yep, sounds good. 20 days should give you plenty of time. I forgot to mention we'll also be towing a camper. Don't miss the "Dig Tree" out of Innaminka. I always pictured Bourke and Wills starving in the middle of a huge desert. The Coopers Creek at the "Dig Tree" is a huge body of water full of food. Apparently, being English, the thought of actually looking for bush tucker was beneath them or something. Quite bizarre. The Stony Desert is an eye-opener. Just imagine the soles of your boots getting near boiling temp and not being able to sit down or anything ... what could you do? Keep hopping as high as possible?! Cheers Jim
