Hello folks.
Can you tell me if fuel is available at Finke and if there are any trading restrictions such as time of day or weekends?

Don't rely on the 'certain hours'. Sometimes it takes a fair walk around the town to find the fella.

A phone call the day prior can save the walk :-)

Hi
It seems a strange question, as if you were coming from the Simpson, you would be better to get fuel at Mount Dare, coming from the west, fuel up at Kulgera.

Like above, you may have fun trying to get service in Finke.

Cheers

Stephen

If you come down the Ghan via Maryvale, visit Chambers Pillar and the Lambert Centre, Finke (Apatula) can be a handy stop. Last time it was quite a bit cheaper than the other options as well.

Thankyou for your assistance.
We will be travelling from Oodnadatta to Lambert Centre via Eringa. Then from Lambert back through Finke to Old Andado and up to Alice.
Thanks again
Allan

Hi Allan
If you intent to do the Old Andado Track, get your fuel at Mount Dare, as there is some very interesting scenery from there and into the NT via this route, and you will still go through Old Andado. Fuel up at Oodnadatta, and you should have enough fuel and depending on what vehicle you drive, you should have enough to get through to Alice Springs. Read my trek notes here on EO. You will love this track, we have travelled it many times. Lots of changing scenery, take your time and you should have no problems.

All the Best

Stephen
